Multi-Format Object Management: Managing Every Type of Data

WinOcular organizes large collections of information into a single multi-user database.  This information can be any electronic data ranging from scanned documents (single or multi-page images), to computer reports, and word processing files, to digital video and audio.  The multi-format object-based technology provides the ability to easily organize and manage all types of information.

The unique functionality of the WinOcular software engine revolves around the way that it manages the storage, organization, query, and reporting of images and files. 

Each WinOcular Object is actually stored in its native format.  By preserving the files (Objects) in their native format, WinOcular remains compatible with all of your existing programs and applications.

The files are stored in their native format and are then “wrapped” into a record called an Object. WinOcular treats all objects the same, regardless of format. The database creates each record and provides the tools to search and find any record or Object.  When you view, print, or email the object, it is opened in the software application that produced it.  The benefit of the WinOcular technology is that it effectively consolidates a collection of incompatible information into a single, multi-user, searchable database.

Each Object contains specialized profile information including: Unique ID, Data and File Type, Storage Location, Content Information, and other customizable key information. 

One of the most exciting features of WinOcular is the ability to search and find the information that you’ve stored.  With all WinOcular products the information is always just a mouse click away.  Simply choose the fields, enter the strings of data to search on, and instantly retrieve a list of images, documents, and related information. 

WinOcular data structure also feature advanced Data Storage Management (DSM), making them uniquely well suited for high-end storage requirements including: hard drives, DVDs, CDs, and Storage Area Networks (SAN).  WinOcular’s ability to define unique volume size maximizes DVD and CD storage.  Our DVD-RAM/DVD-ROM and CD-R jukebox enhancements ensure the scalability necessary to handle high volume archival storage.

Multi-Table Queries for Reporting

The query and reporting tools designed in all WinOcular products bring depth and functionality to reports in a way that novice computer users find easy-to-use.  This means that they no longer require IT personnel to use third-party tools like crystal reports to get a custom report. 

The ability to link, filter, and process data from an unlimited number of tables and fields is a feature typically not included in most web products and requires the assistance of IT personnel to accomplish. 

Of course, since all WinOcular products are SQL and ODBC compliant, IT personnel with appropriate security privileges, can use their own tools to access and report on data – or use Crystal Reports if they wish!
