For example, you can import your States’ list of assignments and then correlate them to the appropriate Certifications and tests (Praxis, TExES, ICTS, CSET and National Board Certifications). These are then linked to NCLB Content Areas. The result – contextual information instead of raw data. You’ll know who’s certified, highly qualified and the subjects and content areas appropriate for each employee.

Highly-Qualified Teacher (HQT) Analysis

Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) analysis is a core functionality of the Portfolio software and it allows you to log the Highly-Qualified (HQ) status of every teacher in every assignment. For many employees, their HQ status has already been determined. In these cases you simply set the appropriate status in their NCLB profile. You can also import and attach all documentation used in the original evaluation. Should an employee wish to switch assignments, you’ll already have the information at your fingertips to determine if they are Highly Qualified for the new assignment – no more extensive paperwork!

 

Additionally Portfolio can automatically calculate HOUSSE (Highly Objective Uniform State Standards of Evaluation) scores for employees. The HOUSSE calculation is available on a state-by-state basis and will automatically calculate HQT status based on your States’ rubric for teaching and scholarship activities.
