I seem to be able to connect to the database using the WinOcular applications but I receive several errors like the example in figure 2. before actually seeing the main WinOcular screen?

This is the name of the server  that houses the images folder

This is the name of the folder which contain the TIF files for each document.

Possible Remedy/Solution:

  • This error is telling you there is not a mapped drive to the folder containing the image files.
  • You may now switch to the File manager or Windows explorer and map a drive to this folder.
    1. Click with the RIGHT mouse button on the Network Neighborhood icon  and click using the left mouse button on Map Network Drive.
    2. If your server is on the Netware network click on the + sign next to Netware or Compatible Network to get the listing of available servers. If your server is on the Microsoft Windows Network, click on the + sign next to Microsoft Windows Network.
    3. You should see a list of server available to you. Look for the name of the server in the list. The name of the server should be the exact match to the server name on the Figure 2 error dialog window.
    4. Click on the + sign next to server name to obtain a list of available folders.
    5. Click on the folder usually named IMAGES too highlight the selection.
    6. The path box like the example in figure 3 should now display the path to the folder you have selected.
    7. Please also check the box labeled reconnect at logon to ensure the drive will be connected and mapped the next time you log in to the workstation.
    8. Click OK and it should map a drive X to the images folder.

** If you receive a error stating unable to connect or access denied message, you need to contact your Computer services help desk. You may need to be given authorization**

I pull up an applicant and click on a document I want to view and then click on the F8 (Eyeglass Icon) to view the document. I get a blank image, just a white screen. Are My documents missing?

  • Possible Remedies/Solution:

The document that you are choosing to view may be magnified in a small area thus causing just a white screen to be displayed. Simply click on the W or B button on the tool bar. The W button will fit the document to the width of the image window. The B button will fit the entire document in the image window.

Not able to see images, getting errors similar to figure 4?

  • Possible Remedies/Solution:

The error in figure 4 often occurs if the imgview.ocx file was not registered properly during the initial install of the WinOcular application. A simple remedy would be to manually execute the file regocx.bat file located within the winoc32 folder. Once the ocx file is registered, you should receive a successfully registered message like in figure 5.
