Web Validation Server (WVS) is a brand new module for Ascent Capture that allows documents to be indexed remotely by anyone with an Internet connection and a browse r.

WVS is simple to use: just install the WVS module and add it to your batch class. Remote users can then index documents by connecting to a predefined URL and logging in. They will be presented with a set of documents to work on and can then begin indexing.

WVS is a great solution for companies that want to use temps, home workers, or offshore keyers to do indexing work.  Pricing is 100% server based, so there are no client licenses (or dongles) and an unlimited number of people are allowed to log in to a single server.

Other features include:

• Complete security. Only authorized users can log in to the server and gain access to batches.
• Volume-based pricing. The price of the WVS module is based on page volume.  Like ACI Server, this volume is for the total number of pages that flow through the WVS server, regardless of how many client stations are connected.
• High performance. WVS is optimized to provide high performance with either a high-speed broadband connection (DSL or cable modem, for example) or a 56K dial-up connection.  Images are cached in the background, so even users with a dial-up line are able to move from page to page quickly.
• Java based. WVS is written entirely in Java, so it runs completely on the client and requires no downloads. Future updates can be controlled completely from a central site, so there is never any need to physically install new software at a remote site.

WVS 5 is compatible with Ascent Capture 5 and above. Internet Explorer 5.5 or above is required at the remote client. Please view WVS 5.0 specifications for more details.
