Ascent Capture Internet Server is the "I" in Ascent Capture's exclusive Document, Data and Internet (DDI) architecture. It's the only product that enables remote scanning, indexing and data capture via connections ranging from dedicated lines to inexpensive dial-up service as well as corporate intranets.

New features in Version 5.5:

• Ability to send downloaded batch classes from a central site to specific remote locations. This new feature, called batch-class filtering, eliminates the potential for batch class confusion at remote locations and provides greater security and confidentiality for service bureaus and large organizations.
• Enables remote locations to be configured with a network of workstations, making it easier to scale remote locations to grow with the workload.
• Includes an installation and configuration wizard to provide step-by-step instructions for installing a combination of central Ascent and Web components as well as the configuration of the Microsoft Internet Information (IIS) server.

Centralized Yet Flexible Administration

The Ascent Capture Internet Server allows the administrator at the central site to keep tight control of all configuration settings. Configuration changes made at the central site are automatically downloaded to all remote sites, thus ensuring that remote sites are always synchronized with the central site.

Administrators can also control which features are enabled on each remote station -- from simple scanning capabilities to indexing, data extraction and quality assurance. Inexperienced users gain the simplest possible interface and administrators can architect and control the enterprise-wide processing scheme.

Ascent Capture Internet Server 5.5 uses Microsoft's popular Internet Information Server. Remote clients can be installed and set up in a few minutes with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and above. These Internet or intranet clients synchronize with the central Ascent server on a designated schedule.

The Ascent Capture Internet Server is ideal when used with Kofax VirtualReScan. The result is faster, more effective image cleanup -- even by inexperienced scanner operators -- plus better data accuracy and a reduction in costly rescanning.
