• XML Backbone. Ascent Capture includes seven standard processing steps, including scanning, recognition, validation, and others. It also allows you to write your own custom modules that connect to Ascent Capture via XML.
• Ascent Capture COM Interface. Use the built-in COM interface to modify the Ascent Capture user interface via Visual Basic, Visual C++, or any language that supports COM.
• Auto Import. Need to automate the import of electronic faxes or other images? The auto import facility gives you complete control. By using XML, you can automate the input of both data and batch set information to Ascent Capture.
• Index Validation Scripting. A built in macro language allows you to automatically validate index values. You can perform sophisticated database lookups, validate formats, check for errors, and more.
• Export. Ascent Capture exports images and data to content management systems via release scripts written in Visual Basic. You can choose from dozens of release scripts available from Kofax, or you can use our source code to write your own.

A networked installation of Ascent Capture can be easily expanded by simply adding more scanning, recognition, validation, or release stations. And the Ascent Capture Internet Server, Ascent Ricochet and the Web Validation Server let you expand even further by installing remote scanning and indexing stations anywhere around the world, all linked to your central site via the Internet or your corporate network.

Supports Color Scanning

Ascent Capture 5.51 has color image processing and advanced thresholding to improve image quality and OCR accuracy for color documents. It also uses advanced algorithms developed by Kofax to handle full-color deskew, and state-of-the-art color-to-bitonal thresholding. Ascent Capture can now automatically recognize color images, extract data from them and release them to your back-end system.

Enables Web Publishing

As organizations leverage the Internet as well as intranets and extranets to improve their competitiveness, Ascent Capture can be an integral part of the process of transforming paper based information into electronic data. Ascent Capture's built-in PDF support allows users to quickly and easily publish paper -based content to the Web.
