Background Information Systems, also know as the Safe-Schools Project, and CCR, Inc. have teamed to provide a streamlined, comprehensive set of Criminal History Background Checks that are fully automated and completely integrated into your On-line Applications and Human Resources Document Management Systems.

The Safe-Schools Project allows for both instant “First Inquiry” and real time “National County-by County” criminal record searches to be integrated into your WinOcular Applicant Tracking and HR Document Management systems.  With this innovation, all Criminal Background Check tasks are fully automated – meaning no manual tasksIt even allows you to use the CRC status as part of the pre-screening process

Safe-Schools Project offers a variety of background information retrieval services for schools, government and corporations tailored to your specific needs and budget. The most popular package for schools is the flat-fee annual subscription. 

With this package, you get both the First Inquiry search and the National County-by-County criminal record search solutions.

The First Inquiry search is used for preliminary screening of new applicants, current employees and volunteers. 

The National County-by-County search is designed for extensive background checks and is appropriate for prior-to-hire background checks.

The First Inquiry solution provides instant access to over 30 million criminal records, including sex offender registries from 39 states, along with parole listings and various other statewide criminal records files.

The National County-by-County criminal record search covers any applicable county in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.  It performs a unique Social Security Number trace to compare every county of residence with those reported in the WinOcular Applicant Tracking system. Safe-Schools Project then provides a County courthouse search of criminal record files in each county identified through the employment application and Social Security Number trace.

With the exception of circumstances beyond the control of Safe-Schools Project, such as weather and electronic interruptions results from National County-by-County searches are uploaded into WinOcular within two business days and searches outside the US are uploaded within five business days.

The Safe-Schools Project Criminal Records Check information is automatically integrated into the WinOcular Applicant Tracking system and stored in the WinOcular Human Resources Document Management system.  This provides a fully automated consolidation of HR records.  OF course, you can always use the Safe-Schools Project on-line system for ad-hoc CRC checks.

This integration lets you improve your pre-employment screening, speeds up the hiring process, reduces paperwork and makes it possible to protect your students and employees by making hiring decisions based on up-to-the-minute information.

Additionally, you can use the First Inquiry solution to check employees as often as you desire.  There is no additional charge for this service for any customer under the Annual Subscription.  This way, you’ll catch changes in employee records in a responsible and timely fashion. 

Annual National searches can also be performed, although pricing for these extensive reports are not included in the Annual Subscription.

To further reduce the workload on your staff, Safe-Schools Project offers a “problem circumvention” process to relieve the district personnel from dealing with any applicant or employee who disputes the accuracy of a criminal record.  Simply provide the person with a special Safe-Schools Project toll-free phone number.  Upon resolution, a Safe Schools Project representative will immediately notify the district of the status. These services along with consultation regarding how to address and establish a criminal background screening process are at NO CHARGE, under the annual subscription plan.
