On-line Applications Streamline more than just the Hiring Process: The STAR System*!

Cobb County Schools recently re-engineered their Human Resources Department.  Using WinOcular software and services to link their On-line Applications with multiple software solutions, they harnessed the synergy of multiple products working together, to accomplish more, increase accountability, add services, and truly reduce their workloads.

When designing an HR department for the 21^st century, it turns out that technology isn’t the whole answer – it requires the willingness to use it, the leadership to re-engineer processes and the resolution to change how a large department operates.

Dr. Ian Barrett and his team at Cobb County had attended enough conferences to know that even though they owned a lot of technology, it could, and should, be used more effectively.

"Cobb County Schools Human Resources processes more than 13,000 employment applications annually.  Before STAR (WinOcular), we had three employees who data entered and scanned every employment application.  This was their full-time job.  With the implementation of STAR, more than 90% of all applicants submit their application to us via the Web.  As a result, we obtain more accurate and complete applicant data, and we have been able to assign the three staff members to other important and previously neglected HR responsibilities."

"We used to receive hundreds of phone calls each year from callers asking what jobs did we have available.  With STAR, all of our vacancies are listed on the Web automatically as we create them during the day and as they become open.  They also are removed from the listing on the web as the job is closed.  This has provided a higher level of service to our applicants."

Automated Certificate Tracking

The Texas State Board for Educator Certifications (SBEC) ensures HOUSSE accuracy by sending certifications (licensure) and ExCET/TeXES Test results directly to WinOcular!

Working together, CCR, Inc. and SBEC have established a way for the ExCET and TeXES test scores and teaching certifications (endorsements) to be uploaded directly into CCR, Inc.’s Employee Portfolio software.

This technology will save School Districts thousands of hours in the verification process alone. 

Not only does it provide the most up-to-date certification information, it also saves time because all of the information is considered fully authenticated and verified – saving certification specialists and HR personnel the effort of personally confirming every certificate and test score.

This same technology will be integrated into the WinOcular Applicant Tracking Software to reduce effort and streamline the hiring process.

CCR, Inc. is actively pursuing the integration technology with all 50 states.
