When
designing an HR department for the 21st century,
it turns out that technology isn’t the whole answer – it
requires the willingness to use it, the leadership to
re-engineer processes and the resolution to change how a
large department operates.
The
teams at Cobb County School District in Georgia and Pinellas
County Schools in Florida had attended enough conferences to
know that even though they owned a lot of technology, it
could, and should, be used more effectively.
Teaming
with other forward–thinking personnel administrators in
their district, they team partnered with a single vendor to
link their On-line Applications, Document Imaging,
Substitute Management and Human Resource Finances systems
together to streamline every process and optimize their
workflow.
For Cobb
County, the STAR system is the result. A fully integrated,
multi-product solution that integrates together to feature
the best of each product, while improving services,
increasing accountability and, most importantly, reducing
workloads.
Following the "Pinellas Plan"
Pinellas County Schools have begun a process of
technological change and are renovating and revamping their
ways of doing business,
The
session will feature a brief presentation and then
discussion regarding the issues, decisions, and
implementation projects that made the project a success.
